Description
This coffee is grown by Asociación de Productores de Café Ecológico Regional Larecaja... or APCERL for short. The association consists of seven coffee producing communities, who live in a subtropical region of valleys within the Madidi National Park.
The association has been growing coffee organically since 2002, whilst in 2014 they obtained a ‘Bird Friendly’ distinction - awarded by the Smithsonian institute. The farmers within the association use shade trees to have a positive impact on both the quality of the coffee itself, and the surrounding environment.
The members of APCERL believe that it is important to not only grow great coffee, but have a positive impact on the biodiversity where they farm. With a gentle approach to farming, we will be able to taste their delicious coffee for years to come.
