Description
If you're like us, you love to hear the stories behind the coffees you drink every morning. This lot from the Kirorero washing station in Rwanda is no exception, but it starts with the formation of COOPAC – a cooperative of coffee farmers established back in 2001.
The 1100 founding members had the mission to regenerate the coffee growing around Lake Kivu. With excellent natural resources, the potential for high quality coffees was there. In the years that have followed, COOPAC has grown to ~2200 members, and they've built around 50 washing stations in the region to aid the smallholder farmers in processing their coffees.
More importantly, the coffee quality has improved dramatically over this time. This has resulted in increased pricing for farmers. From our first sips, this clean and sweet cup with plenty of juicy fruit acidity was definitely worth paying extra for. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
