Description
Santa Rita Estate was established in 1998 – the brainchild of two women producers Dania Baltodano and Desiree Pereira. The two have family backgrounds in coffee – both fourth generation coffee farmers with a penchant for great quality coffee and sustainable growing practices.
Abandoned and deforested during a Civil War in the 1980s, Santa Rita has now been well and truly rejuvenated. With 25% of the land kept as a nature reserve, the rest has been growing consistently great coffee for years.
In fact, we first featured this coffee a few years ago now, back in 2021. - it is always nice to see a past coffee back on the cupping table, especially when it lives up to the previous highs that meant we brought it into the roastery.
