Description
Ethiopian coffee is always a favourite of ours thanks to the bright and exciting flavours! This coffee has such beautiful floral notes. Much like most coffee in Ethiopia, this release came from multiple growers, as the coffee often grows wild and organically amongst other vegetation in people’s gardens.
Often described as ‘the birthplace of coffee’, farmers will sometimes pick from Heirloom varieties of Arabica which have grown wild in the forests for centuries. Most of the coffees we’ve grown to love can be traced back to these wild varieties, traded or smuggled into different countries so that coffee growing could be established globally.
Approximately 700 smallholder farmers pick their cherries and deliver them to the Adorsi washing station. Here the coffee cherries are removed with water, and the beans are left to ferment in water for 72 hours with the water being refreshed daily before being left to dry, producing this super clean, crisp and floral cup.
